- Good news; Wimpey have
withdrawn their planning application.
They will doubtless put in a new one, but so far
so good. They have at last listened to RBC
officers about the technical flaws,omissions and
all the objections.
They will doubtless address some of the
omissions,but not the objection in
principle.

- The Trustees of the
Tilehurst Poors' Lands Charity do not regard the
proceedings of the Tilehurst Allotments AGM as
public. At the AGM they responded to written
questions. They do not want these responses
published by SOOS. As requested by the Chairman
of the Allotments society, the responses have
been removed from this web site.

- The planning Committee on
Wed 9 Jan 2002 (6.30 pm Civic Centre Reading)
will consider the Wimpey Planning application.
Members of the public are welcome to
attend.
- On Tuesday 27 Nov. Cllr
Winfield-Chislett received the 3524 name
petition objecting to the proposals to build on
the allotment land. She has passed it on to the
planning department to join the 500+ individual
letters about the application. All will be
considered in January and will be passsed to an
inspector if the application goes to
appeal.

- The Council have received
535 letters
- The Petition has been
closed at 3524 signatures. It will be handed to
the Chair of the planning committee on Tuesday
27 November at 10:00 a.m outside the Civic
Offices
- The SOOS website has
been updated with the SOOS
submission.

flats.

Land Charity decline to give the Save Our Open
Space web site permission to publish their annual
report.
They say that the annual
report is available in the Tilehurst library, and
may be obtained from Oliver Jenks, Clerk to the

4GE.
